While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

UN Special Rapporteur calls for expelling Israeli from UEFA competitions

GENEVA, August 10, 2025 (WAFA) -

Francesca Albanese, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, called for expelling Israeli from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) competitions.

“Time to expel its killers from competitions, UEFA,” she said in a post on X, in response to UEFA’s repost bidding farewell to a Palestinian football player who was killed in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

“Let's make sport apartheid and genocide free. One ball, one kick at a time,” said Albanese.

In a post on X, UEFA bid farewell to Palestinian football player Suleiman al-Obeid, known as the 'Palestinian Pelé'.

The post described al-Obeid as: “A talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest of times.”

Al-Obeid earned the title “the Palestinian Pelé” in recognition of his exceptional talent, referencing the Brazilian football legend, Pelé, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in history.

Thirty-nine athletes, scouts, and youth from the Palestinian sports and scouting movement were killed in the past month alone, bringing the total number of those killed since the start of the ongoing genocide to more than 656. T.R.

Civil society orgs. warn of systematic forced displacement plan

Sunday 10-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Network of Civil Society Organizations has warned of Israel’s plan to occupy the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Israeli announcement of a gradual plan to take full control of the Strip, starting with Gaza City, “is not a passing military step, but rather the systematic execution of a forced displacement plan and the liquidation of Palestinian presence, amid international complicity in full view of the world.”

During a press conference on Sunday, the network’s Women’s Sector called for an “immediate and comprehensive halt” to the genocide against the Palestinian people and the provision of “urgent international protection” for all civilians, including women, girls, children, and the elderly.

The conference was held under the slogan: “No to genocide through killing, starvation, and displacement in Gaza,” rejecting Israel’s decision to occupy Gaza City, a move they warned would cause catastrophic consequences, including the displacement of all segments of the population, amid a suffocating humanitarian crisis.

Sa'har Yaghi, Chair of the Palestinian Women’s Developmental Studies Association, stressed the urgent need to lift Israel’s blockade on Gaza, open border crossings immediately, and provide safe humanitarian corridors to deliver food, medicine, and healthcare, especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women and survivors of violence.

She emphasized that “the Israeli declaration of full control over the Strip, starting with Gaza City, is not a temporary military move, but the systematic implementation of a forced displacement plan and the eradication of Palestinian presence, amid international complicity in full view of the world.”

Yaghi noted that over 675 days, the Israeli occupation has turned Gaza into a mass grave, destroying 85% of its civilian infrastructure, killing 61,369 Palestinians, and injuring 152,850 others, more than 50,000 of whom now live with permanent disabilities.

She added that “women have paid the heaviest price in this war, with over 28,000 women and girls martyred, more than 15,000 widowed and left to face homelessness and loss after losing their breadwinners, and over 18,000 children killed, many alongside their families under the rubble, in blatant violation of all international laws and norms.”

Last Friday, the Israeli government approved a gradual plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, beginning with the seizure of Gaza City and the displacement of its roughly one million residents toward the south. The plan involves surrounding the city and carrying out incursions into densely populated residential areas.

According to UN data, 87% of the Strip’s territory is now either under Israeli occupation or subject to evacuation orders. The UN has warned that any new military expansion would have “catastrophic consequences.”

Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation army, backed by the United States, has waged a genocidal war against Gaza’s population, killing over 61,000 Palestinians, injuring more than 153,000, and displacing nearly the entire population, in destruction unprecedented since World War II.

'Hamas: Aid entering Gaza is drop in the ocean

Sunday 10-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The 'Hamas Movement said that the starvation policy imposed by the Israeli occupation on the residents of the Gaza Strip, which has claimed the lives of hundreds, including dozens of children, represents “the ugliest chapter of the genocide” against the Palestinian people.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, the Movement said that the aid entering the Strip is “nothing more than a drop in the ocean of humanitarian needs,” stressing that the airdrops are “propaganda stunts” that carry serious risks to civilian lives and are no substitute for “opening land crossings and bringing in trucks in sufficient and safe quantities.”

'Hamas accused the US administration and the states supporting Israel of being “partners in the war of starvation and genocide by providing political and military cover to the occupation.”

The Movement demanded the immediate and unconditional opening of all crossings and the entry of sufficient and secure aid to meet the needs of the Strip’s residents, calling for official Arab and Islamic action to pressure Washington and Tel Aviv to stop what it described as war crimes.

'Hamas also urged intensifying popular mobilization in world capitals to condemn the occupation, push for an end to the “war of starvation and genocide,” and break the siege on Gaza “by all legitimate means.”

Earlier on Sunday, the Government Media Office in Gaza reported that only 1,210 aid trucks had entered the Strip in 14 days, out of the 8,400 trucks needed to confront famine during the same period, representing just 14% of actual needs.

It pointed out that “most of the trucks were looted and robbed amid a deliberate security chaos engineered by the Israeli occupation as part of its starvation and chaos policy aimed at breaking the resilience of the Palestinian people.”

Recently, the UN’s World Food Program warned that “a third of Gaza’s population (out of roughly 2.4 million Palestinians in the Strip) have not eaten for several days.”

Katz orders Israeli forces to remain in northern West Bank refugee camps until year’s end

Sunday 10-August-2025

NAZARETH, (PIC)

The  War Minister of the Israeli occupation apartheid regime,  Yisrael Katz, announced on Sunday that Israeli occupation forces will remain in the Palestinian refugee camps in the northern West Bank until at least the end of the current year.

In a statement, Katz claimed that “the refugee camps in Jineen, Toulkarm, and Nour Shams were hotbeds of terrorism funded, armed, and directed by Iran as another front against Israel, and militants emerged from them to carry out armed operations.”

He added, “Following my field tours and meetings with officers and soldiers, I instructed the army to change its policy.”

Katz explained that the Israeli army had launched a severe assault on the refugee camps, “evacuated residents, eliminated terrorists (resistance fighters), dismantled and demolished terrorist infrastructure, and the Israeli army will remain in the camps at this stage under my orders until at least the end of the year.”

He further claimed, “There is no terrorism in the camps today, and the volume of terrorist alerts in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) has dropped by 80%. This is the correct model for fighting terrorism: to attack it and pursue it in Judea and Samaria, Gaza, and anywhere else.”

Alongside the genocide committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank have killed no fewer than 1,014 Palestinians and injured about 7,000 others, in addition to arresting more than 18,500 since October 2023, according to Palestinian data.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with US support, has been committing genocide in Gaza involving killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and International Court of Justice orders to halt it. The genocide has left 61,369 Palestinians dead and 152,862 injured, most of them children and women, as well as more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced and a famine that has claimed many lives.

During their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount and a number of them performed provocative dances and Talmudic prayers.

So-called Council of the illegal Israeli settlement staff raid northern Jordan Valley area, photograph Palestinian citizens’ homes

JORDAN VALLEY, August 10, 2025 (WAFA) –

The so-called Israeli Council of the illegal Israeli settlements stormed the Al-Mayta area in the northern Jordan Valley on Sunday evening and began photographing Palestinian citizens’ homes.

Local sources reported that the “Colonial Council” staff raided an area belonging to the Al-Mali'h community and started photographing the homes, at a time when the area is subjected to near-daily raids and attacks by colonists.

The northern Jordan Valley area is frequently subjected to attacks by colonists, including assaulting residents and their homes, stealing and destroying property, and pursuing and attacking shepherds and their livestock in the grazing lands.

The settler against Palestinians and their properties has dramatically increased since the onset of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7th, 2023.

The indiscriminate violence by the illegal Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians and their properties has been widely condemned.

Several countries have imposed sanctions against Israeli colonists accused of committing acts of violence against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.

Illegal Israeli settlers set up new colonial outpost north of Aree'ha (Jericho)

Aree'ha (Jericho), August 10, 2025 (WAFA) –

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers on Sunday set up a new colonial outpost in Shallalat El-'Auja village, north of Jericho, according to a local official.

'Hasan Mulai'hat, the general supervisor of the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, said colonists established the new outpost in the village on Sunday evening, bringing with them zinc sheets, caravans, and construction equipment. They also seized a residential caravan that belongs to a displaced family.

Mulai'hat stressed that this step comes as part of an expansionist colonial policy aimed at displacing Palestinian residents and threatening security and stability in the area.

He added that colonists raid the village daily, harassing residents, grazing their livestock among homes, and cutting off their water supply, in a clear attempt to increase pressure on them.

He emphasized that such practices constitute a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to the indigenous residents’ rights to their land, calling on the international community to take urgent action to stop these violations that increase the suffering of Palestinian citizens.

He also appealed to all human rights and humanitarian bodies to stand in solidarity with the residents of the village and support them in confronting these attacks.

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers on Sunday night set up mobile homes on privately owned Palestinian land in the town of Teqou', southeast of Bait La'hm (Bethlehem), according to security sources.

Sources told WAFA that several colonists placed the mobile homes on land belonging to members of Al-Sabba'h family, adjacent to an illegal colony built on the town’s land.

Illegal Israeli settlers displace West Bank family, torch its property

Sunday 10-August-2025

WEST BANK, (PIC)

A group of the illegal Israeli settlers assaulted on Sunday a Palestinian family and forced it to leave its farm and home under threat before setting fire to its property in the northern occupied West Bank.

According to local sources, a group of armed settlers stormed the Khilet 'Hamad area in Al-Zawiya town, west of Salfeet, and burned an agricultural hut along with its agricultural contents as well as eight aged olive trees.

The settlers also destroyed a rainwater collection reservoir on the same farm, which belongs to Abdul-'Azeez Shuqair.

The sources added that the settlers assaulted Shuqair and his family members and forced them to leave their land, where they had lived for decades.

IOAR starts building new settler road in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem)

Sunday 10-August-2025

Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), (PIC)

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime (IOAR) started on Sunday to build a new settler road on large swaths of annexed Palestinian land in 'Hizma town, northeast of Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem), amid tight security and military protection.

This step follows an Israeli decision made on June 25, 2025 to seize vast tracts of land stretching from the main road leading to Jaba' town to the 'Aqabat area, in addition to adjacent areas. The land grab plan in this area is scheduled to continue until the end of December 2027.

“This project aims to impose new faits accomplis on the ground and change the region’s landscape as part of a systematic policy designed to expand settlements and Judaize the city, actions that flagrantly defy UN resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334,” Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) governor’s office said in a statement on Sunday.

In a separate incident, a horde of extremist Jewish settlers seized and fenced a new swath of land near homes of Bedouins in al-Farisiya area of the northern Jordan Valley.

Local sources said that settlers set up metal markers and deployed barbed wire near Bedouin families’ tents in Al-Farisiya area.

For several months, Jewish settlers have been systematically seizing and fencing off large areas of agricultural and grazing land in the northern Jordan Valley, gradually preventing local farmers and shepherds from accessing hundreds of dunums of land near their homes

UNSC holds emergency session on Israeli decision to reoccupy Gaza

(WAFA Archive)

NEW YORK, August 10, 2025 (WAFA) -

The UN Security Council convened an emergency session Sunday in New York to discuss the escalating situation in Gaza, responding to Israeli occupation government's plan to further expand its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and take full control of the key population center of Gaza City.

Miroslav Jenča, Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas, during his briefing to the 15-member organ, said, “The latest decision by the Government of Israel risks igniting another horrific chapter in this conflict, with potential consequences beyond Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

“I am extremely concerned over the prolonged conflict and further human toll that is likely to unfold following the Government of Israel’s decision to expand military operations in Gaza,” said Ramesh Rajasingham, Head of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Geneva and Director of the Coordination Division, in his briefing to the Council.  “This marks a grave escalation in a conflict that has already inflicted unimaginable suffering.”

He said: “States – all those with any influence – must look within our bruised collective conscience and summon the courage to do what is necessary to end this inhumanity and pain, he said. Civilians must be protected, and hostages must be released unconditionally.  Arbitrarily detained Palestinians must be freed. Israel must agree to and facilitate humanitarian relief operations, both into and within the Gaza Strip, to reach the population in need.”

He emphasized that the International Court of Justice’s provisional measures in the case on the application of the Genocide Convention in Gaza remain in place, including the demand that Israel take immediate and effective measures to enable the provision of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance.

The representative of the United Kingdom said that his delegation, along with other European members of the Council, requested the meeting in response to the Government of Israel’s decision to further escalate its military operations in Gaza.

“This decision is wrong,” he said, urging Israel to reconsider it immediately, as expanding military operations will do nothing to bring an end to this conflict. “This is not a path to resolution. It is a path to more bloodshed.”

Somalia’s representative affirmed that Israel’s announcement of its intention to impose military control over the entire Gaza Strip is not an abstraction.  "It is a chilling blueprint for the next chapter of devastation."  "For the 2 million people still trapped in Gaza, it means the escalation of what has already become hell on earth, literally and figuratively, leading to the world’s worst man-made famine."

He recalled that the International Court of Justice “was unequivocal” that the occupation, blockade, denial of humanitarian access, and actions resulting in collective punishment violate international law.  Stressing the necessity of preserving the legal and historical status quo at the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, he stated: “True security cannot be built on top of the ruins of justice.”

Urging for a permanent ceasefire, he called the moment “a test for all of humanity”, as silence “is not neutrality.  For all the victims, it is a verdict”.

Denmark’s delegate said, “For months, the world has watched in despair as conditions in Gaza have grown more catastrophic by the day,” urging Israel to reverse its decision, which will not secure the release of the hostages but only cause further bloodshed.

Categorically rejecting any forced displacement, she cited the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice that any unilateral attempts to alter the demography or status of the Gaza Strip constitute a clear violation of international law.  Today, the entire strip faces famine-like conditions.

“This is unconscionable,” she asserted, deploring the killing of starving civilians trying to get food.  “The alarming frequency and scale of these incidents are simply unacceptable,” she stressed, calling for transparent investigations into these incidents.  “We urge the warring parties to stop burying peace in the rubble,” she stated.

Several countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Slovenia, and Greece, called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Gaza.

The countries condemned the Israeli government’s decision to expand its military operations in Gaza, warning that the plan violates international humanitarian law and urged Israel to immediately reverse its decision and halt its implementation.

They affirmed that any attempt to annex land or expand colonial settlements breaches international law.

They stressed that expanding military operations endangers the lives of all civilians in Gaza, including the remaining hostages, and would cause unnecessary suffering, exacerbate the already catastrophic humanitarian situation, and expose Palestinian civilians to further loss of life and mass displacement.

Addressing UNSC: Palestine’s Permanent Observer to UN stresses Israel proved long ago its goal is the destruction of Palestinian people

NEW YORK, August 10, 2025 (WAFA) -

Minister Riyadh Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, stressed that Israel proved long ago that its goal is the destruction of the Palestinian people through forced transfer and massacres to facilitate its annexation of Palestinian land.

During his address to the Emergency UN Security Council Meeting on the Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestine Question, Mansour said that "Israel is killing Palestine in Gaza. That is its objective." And there, over 2 million victims are enduring unbearable agony that the human mind can barely comprehend, he added.

“We are not allowed to fail them any longer. We do not have the luxury to feel guilt or shame. We owe them to act now to stop this genocide.”

He stressed that Israel had proved long ago that it was not concerned with the fate of the hostages, adding that the latest decision to reoccupy Gaza was yet another blatant demonstration of that.

Following is the full speech of Minister Riyadh Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, before the Emergency Security Council Meeting: Thank you for convening this meeting based on a request supported by nearly every member of the Security Council to address the grave situation in Gaza and further shocking developments.

Mr. President.

Israel is killing Palestine in Gaza. That is its objective. And there, over 2 million victims are enduring unbearable agony that the human mind can barely comprehend.

We are not allowed to fail them any longer. We do not have the luxury to feel guilt or shame. We owe them to act now to stop this genocide.

Mr. President,

There is something undeniable. Israel does not care about what we say. It is obvious. The only thing that matters now is what we do. What will force Israel to change course is our ability to transform justified condemnations into just actions. And, history will judge us all.

Mr. President,

There is an international plan adopted by the International High Level Conference on Palestine, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, that starts with ending the use of starvation as a weapon of war and ending the war on Gaza through a ceasefire, the release of the hostages and prisoners, a massive surge of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in coordination with the UN and in line with humanitarian principles, and the full withdrawal of Israel from Gaza.

The plan foresees the Palestinian Authority resuming its sole governmental and security duties in the Gaza Strip with regional and international support and Hamas handing over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority in the context of an end to the war and in line with the objective of an independent Palestinian State.

It sets forth an irreversible pathway to an independent and sovereign Palestinian State leading to shared peace and security and regional integration.

If Israel’s concern was actually the end of Hamas rule or Hamas disarming, if its concern was actually security, it would have rallied this plan.

Israel is seeking to cement its full military control over the Gaza Strip and is prolonging this war not to end Hamas rule or disarm it, but to prevent independent Palestinian statehood.

The Israeli government has said that clearly, over and over again. Israel proved long ago it was not concerned with the fate of the hostages. This latest decision is one more blatant demonstration of that. The Israeli government dehumanized and demonized Palestinians to such an extent that its genocide against them through mass killing and starvation, including of children, is only opposed in Israel by some brave voices.

Israel proved long ago that its goal is the destruction of the Palestinian people through forced transfer and massacres to facilitate its annexation of our land.

Such illegal and immoral plans cannot be met with only outrage. They require the mobilization of all the tools available to stop them.

Israel proved long ago it does not care about the Charter, international law or the resolutions of this Council if not accompanied by consequences. These facts have led many to rightly wonder: How on earth is Israel still allowed to sit around this table and in these United Nations?!

Mr. President,

Countries around the world are adopting more and more measures to end any form of complicity and to advance accountability and we appreciate these efforts.

All States should undertake such steps immediately. But in the face of such contempt, and of two million lives being destroyed – of people, children, killed, maimed, displaced, starved, humiliated, mutilated, buried alive, burnt alive, abducted, tortured, orphaned, bereaved, shattered, torn apart – the measures taken do not match the level of the crimes committed so as to truly deter them.

Mr. President,

Two million people continue to endure pain and agony that no human, or nation should ever be forced to. They matter. Every single one of them matters. And no one matters more than them.

The position of Palestine is unequivocal. We reject all harm to civilians. And our civilians are not less civilians. Their lives are not less worthy.

We have never justified and always rejected harming Israeli civilians, killing them or taking

them hostage. But we reject any attempt to justify the massacres committed by Israel against Palestinian civilians, or its abduction of thousands of Palestinians, or its starvation policy, or its displacement policy or its annexation policy.

There is no justification whatsoever for such barbarity, such impunity. We have called for a ceasefire over and over again, and we were clear that Hamas must work with the mediators to remove any obstacle or excuse that would prolong this war.

We presented plans and proposals and cooperated with every effort to facilitate an agreement to end the war on our people, while reiterating clearly that the absence of such an agreement in no way allows Israel to pursue its war of atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Neither a ceasefire agreement was reached nor the massacres stopped. The devastation of our people, the annihilation of life in Gaza, continues as we speak.

Therefore, given Netanyahu’s insistence to pursue this genocide, to destroy our people through death and displacement, to annex our land, to destroy Palestine and with it any chance for peace, this Council must act under chapter 7 to deprive Israel of the means to pursue this war of atrocities, to hold it accountable for its crimes and to send an immediate international protection force to save the Palestinian people from certain death.

There is no doubt that it is Israel’s impunity that led to Israel’s insanity. And as the world said clearly that nothing that Israel did before the 7th of October could justify harming Israeli civilians on the 7th of October, nothing that Hamas did on the 7th of October can justify harming Palestinian civilians since. As long as Israel is above the law, it will act as an outlaw state.

Mr. President,

As they have for over 20 years since the Arab Peace Initiative, the region and Palestine are making the choice of peace.

We are willing to work with the US administration and Saudi Arabia and France and the Members of this Council and other regional and international partners to bring this war on our people to an end now.

To end the bloodshed and the suffering now and once and for all. To achieve freedom and shared peace, security and prosperity. We have a duty to act and cannot waver.

Your actions today will determine the fate of millions of people tomorrow, at least those who would have survived by then, and the fate of our region for generations to come.

8 European countries reject Israel’s Gaza occupation plan

Sunday 10-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Eight European countries have issued a joint statement rejecting the Israeli occupation authorities’ decision to intensify attacks on the Gaza Strip and occupy Gaza City, warning against any demographic change in the occupied Palestinian territories. This comes after a similar statement signed by nine Western countries.

The foreign ministers of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain said in their statement, issued today, Sunday:

“We strongly condemn the recent announcement by the Israeli government to intensify its military offensive on the Gaza Strip.”

They added that this decision will only “deepen the humanitarian crisis and put the lives of the remaining hostages at greater risk.”

The eight countries stressed their rejection of any demographic change in the occupied Palestinian territories, considering it a violation of international law. They reaffirmed that the Gaza Strip is part of the State of Palestine, along with the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

They argued that intensifying the Israeli offensive and occupying Gaza City would be “a serious obstacle to implementing the two-state solution.”

At the same time, EU Commissioner for Equality and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, warned that Israel’s decision would further deepen the “already catastrophic situation” in Gaza.

She added in a post on X that “an immediate ceasefire is essential, along with the unconditional release of all captives and the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid in full compliance with international humanitarian law.”

Earlier, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand issued a joint statement condemning Israel’s decision to expand the war in Gaza. Austria, France, Canada, and Norway later joined, warning against violating international law through the forced displacement of civilians and annexation of land.

Last Friday, the Israeli government approved a gradual plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, starting with seizing Gaza City by displacing its nearly one million residents toward the south, then encircling the city and carrying out incursions into densely populated residential areas.

According to UN data, 87% of the Strip’s territory is already under Israeli occupation or subject to evacuation orders. The UN warned that any further military expansion would have “catastrophic consequences.”

Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation army, backed by the United States, has waged a genocidal war against the population of the Gaza Strip, which so far has killed more than 61,000 Palestinians, wounded over 153,000, and displaced almost the entire population, amid destruction unprecedented since World War II.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
